Capt. Gary Lehto and First Mate Mark Skidmore invite you to celebrate theunofficial start of summer2009in grand style Memorial Day weekend in Two Harbors Catalina Island. Currently we have half of the entire Banning Housebookedand there are many campsites (tent camping up to an including permanent camp structures) available. There is no limit on how many can attend, but since all rooms and campsites sell out well before Memorial Day, if you have any interest inparticipating, you should plan on securing your lodging early.
Capt. Gary will be sailing his yacht over early an anchoring off Two Harbors. Others aretaking theferries with supplies (read:grog). Why somuch grog? Fear of Pirates? No. Because on the deck of the Banning House is one of very few places in the world you can watch the sun come up over the ocean and from the same deck in the afternoon you can watch the sun go back down into the ocean. People travel from all over the world to witness this. But what if you are not into drinking and watching sunrises and sunsets? No problem ashere is a short list of family friendlyactivitiesthat are planned:

Romantic Luxury Overlooking Two Harbors
The Banning House Lodge was built in 1910 as the summer home for the pioneering Banning brothers, who owned Santa Catalina Island. Now a charming, Craftsman -style bed and breakfast, the Banning House Lodge offers sweeping views of the Isthmus of Catalina and Catalina Harbor from its romantic, hilltop perch above Two Harbors.
Each of the eleven rooms is individually decorated and has a private bath. There is also a trellised courtyard where you can sip a cool drink and view the California mainland on the horizon. The common Lodge and Sun Rooms provide cozy places to read a book, enjoy a crackling fire or share some conversation. Some rooms accommodate up to four people, and the entire facility can be reserved for special occasions.
A continental breakfast is served daily in the dining room. Pending group activity, during the summer season, the Banning House Lodge hosts a social mixer with free appetizers on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
